Fabuwood doesn't publish lab test results for its finishes, so judge durability on what it does document. An Allure shaker door is a solid wood frame, mortise-and-tenon jointed, around an MDF center panel. Fabuwood picked MDF "to reduce the possibility of shrinkage" and because it is the better base for paint. The finish is applied in the factory, and the limited lifetime warranty covers it along with the box. Illume's Catalina slab doors are a different build. Each is a single panel on an engineered furniture board/MDF core, so there are no frame joints to open up.

Fabuwood's catalog also includes two builder-grade series you'll mostly meet through contractors and multi-unit projects. Quest keeps solid wood mortise-and-tenon door frames, plywood boxes and dovetail drawers, but uses a standard (partial) overlay, so more frame shows around each door, and its drawer runners are 80% extension rather than full. Fabuwood's spec books grant a limited lifetime warranty "only on Allure, Illume, Ovela, Value Premium, and Quest series cabinets" (the Ovela edition's wording; the Allure and Illume books list the same lines minus the newer Ovela).
